Positions of the political forces regarding el Sisi’s nomination

The analysis reviews the positions of the various political forces regarding the nomination of Field Marshal el Sisi for presidency. The analysis points out that forces in favor of this nomination are represented basically by masses, which are not affiliated politically with any party or organization, along with some organizational entities such as ‘Egypt is my Country’ Front, the ‘Future of a Nation’ campaign, traditional parties and Egypt’s three churches. The analysis states that the opposing forces include the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters, ‘Strong Egypt’ Party, 6th of April Youth Movement and the Revolutionary Socialists Movement. The paper points out that some forces gave its conditional support, notably al Nour Party and the Free Egyptians Party. Furthermore, it analyzes the reasons and motives of each group and its impact on the awaited presidential elections.
