Challenges for the Transitional Period in Egypt

This assessment is based on the concept of the required “Historic Bloc” to preserve the June 30th revolution. The following five challenges are the most prominent that will face the new transitional stage: • A balanced civilian-military relation, • Unity of youth forces, • Establish balanced ties with al Noor Party, • Reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood’s youth, • Provide hope for economic improvement. The assessment concludes that Egypt is facing the two following tracks: • The continuation of this coalition with tension and constant crises among its parties due to the contradictory goals, • The disintegration of the coalition. Both tracks lead to instability and protraction of the transitional period.
