This analysis uses the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin to draw the character of Field Marshal el Sisi, who has succeeded in presenting himself as a savior for the country after years of chaos, disintegration and division, especially against the backdrop of the rise of the role of the state institutions and the weakness of the political society. The analysis concludes that el Sisi’s call on Egyptians to grant him a mandate to combat terrorism opens the door for a new political process that ends by electing him as president, while he faces difficulties to dispel the concept of a military rule by the West, especially the US, and enforce security and stability in Sinai.
