The paper tackled the content of the political discourse of President Morsi and reasons that made it a subject of ridicule. The paper outlined the characteristics of Morsi’s discourse in terms of its form by assessing the following: • Improvisation and modest formulation, • Mistakes in relation to the language, information and history, • An overlap between political and religious discourse based on preaching, • Long speeches, • The improper use of colloquial words and phrases. As for content, the analysis asserts that the discourse was characterized by the following: • Exaggeration, • Weak content of public policies, notably the economic aspect, • Over-optimism and unrealism, • Contrast between words and deeds.
