The assessment deals with the crisis of kidnapping Egyptian soldiers, the way the state had handled this issue as well as its significance on the future of the security situation in Sinai. The paper sheds light on indications of the confused relationship between the Brotherhood’s presidency and the Jihadist groups and the natural alignment between the movement and these groups when they face a threat. Also, the assessment touches upon the impact of the aforementioned relationship on crisis management and description of that incident.
