Abu Dhabi, Sep. 3, 2020—Arab experts taking part in a webinar organized by the Emirates Policy Center (EPC) on Wednesday, Sep. 2, 2020 on the “Emirati-Israeli Peace Treaty” affirmed that the Emirati-Israeli step is a correction for a historical Arab mistake that led to the isolation of Palestinians and weakened their cause under the pretext of rejecting normalization. The Emirati-Israeli step also reflects a new spirit that seeks to take the initiative to deal with challenges facing the Arab region, the experts added.

In a webinar organized by the Emirates Policy Center (EPC) on Wednesday, 22 July 2020, entitled “The Fight for Libya”, a number of international experts and researchers underlined that despite the latest developments on the ground in favour of the forces of the Government of National Unity (GNA), led by Fayez al-Sarraj, neither of the two belligerents in Libya can control the country and completely project its authority on it. Furthermore, there is no alternative to a political solution that ensures a formula of power sharing under international auspices.

A number of experts and researchers in the Syrian affairs underlined that despite the military victory scored by the Syrian regime and its allies in the Syrian conflict, the issues and facts that led to the revolution of the Syrian people in 2011 continue to exist and that the Caesar Act constitutes a turning point in the Syrian conflict that would increase the pressure on the regime and its supporters and prevent the conversion of the military victory into political results.

A number of experts and researchers in the Iranian affairs underlined that the Iranian regime continues to favour the Revolution to the State and national interests. The regime insists on acting as a cause rather than as a nation state. It wants to export a “model” that has failed at home and that is not desired by its own people. They added that despite the US sanctions and the socio-economic implications of the corona crisis, the Iranian regime has not changed its domestic and foreign policies, neither does it have the capability to reform itself.
