A study was published today by Dr. Ebtesam Al-Ketbi, President of the Emirates Policy Center (EPC), titled: “Contemporary shifts in UAE foreign policy: From the liberation of Kuwait to the Abraham Accords”. The study was published in the latest edition of the Israel Journal of Foreign Affairs published by the renowned British Taylor & Francis Group.
The Study reviews shifts in the UAE foreign policy over three decades (from the war to liberate Kuwait until the signing of the Abraham Accords in September 2020).
The study also discusses all regional and global contexts that had an evident impact on the UAE policies. It affirms that the UAE has an approach based on the premise that regional stability is not separate from the stability of the country itself and the protection of its development model. From the UAE perspective, the nature of threats in the region had reflections on the way the country has shaped its geo-strategic goals.
