Winners and Losers in the National Dialogue Conference in Yemen

EPC | 26 Jan 2014

Ten months after the inception of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which is expected to come up with outcomes that lead to a colossal change in the political landscape, the paper tackles the situation of the various political forces in terms of gains and losses. There are big losers such as the General People’s Conference while there are big winners. Winning and losing was not limited to the list of the known political parties only, but reached public political institutions also. The parliament was one of the biggest winners while the government was one of the biggest losers. The same goes for some segments of society; women top the list of winners while tribe leaders top the list of losers.
