As the rest of world countries, Turkey has been hit by the Coronavirus pandemic and its social and economic consequences. This crisis has added an additional burden for the country as Turkish economy already suffers from the depreciation of the Turkish Lira, an increasing inflation, unemployment and debt. It has also intensified political struggle in the country in light of the debate regarding the performance of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Justice and Development Party government in managing the crisis, as well as, Turkey’s involvement in regional conflicts, especially in Syria and Libya.
In a series of on-line symposiums organized by EPC to foresee the post-coronavirus world, the center will hold its third webinar under the title of “Potential Post-Coronavirus Geo-economic Shifts”. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 11, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:15 p.m. local time in the UAE.
Based on the importance of foreseeing the potential geopolitical impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the Emirates Policy Center (EPC) organizes a webinar titled “Potential Post-Coronavirus Geopolitical Shifts in the MENA Region”.
The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 pm UAE local time (6:00-7:00 pm GMT) via Zoom application.
In light of the potential impact of the coronavirus pandemic on international order, EPC will organize a video conference titled “Coronavirus Crisis and Potential Global Geo-Strategic Shifts” on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 from 3-4:30 (GMT) (6-7:30 Abu Dhabi local time).
