Official Media Management during Crisis (COVID-19 crisis)

Venue: Online course.

The purpose of the course is teaching trainees the skills of managing official statements in crisis, and how to manage the official media statements during COVID-19 crisis, and the impacts of this crisis on the image of the governmental establishments in media. The course includes:

  • Skills of dealing with contradicting official statements and press leaks.
  • Countering rumors on social media.
  • Dealing with press conferences in crisis.
  • Skills of writing and editing awareness messages and press releases during COVID-19 pandemic.
  • How shall the official statements deal with common public concerns regarding the impacts of COVID-19 crisis.
  • Skills of broadcasting and publishing the official reports and statements regarding the country epidemiological status during COVID-19 crisis. 
  • Managing official statements and press releases on major incidents.
  • Dealing with the reactions of local, regional and international media outlets.
  • Dealing with journalists’ hard questions during crisis.
  • Writing and editing skills of official statements and communication press release during crisis.

General terms and conditions

  • The minimum number of participants in each course is 10. The course will not be held if the minimum number is not available.
  • Courses will be held online via Zoom app, start at 9:00 am and end at 2:00 pm every day.
  • At the end of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of completion accredited by the Emirates Policy Center. The participant will also receive the material taught in the course.
  •   The participant will not receive a certificate unless he/she completes all course training hours.
  • To register in any course, please include: Name of required course, and the preferred date, number of participants, the employer name (institution, organization, embassy, or ministry).
