EPC Makes Outstanding Achievements in 2018

Abu Dhabi, Jan. 15, 2019—The Emirates Policy Center (EPC) achieved remarkable success in 2018 in its field of work and output such as the number of events, publications and papers produced. The center has also launched an electronic “Policy Brief” that provides researchers and scholars with in-depth analytics for political developments in both Arabic and English. EPC has also expanded its network of freelance researchers as well as partnerships with its regional and international counterparts.
On this occasion, EPC President, Dr. Ebtesam Al Ketbi, said that 2018 was a quantum leap in EPC’s work, which was culminated by winning a number of awards as an appreciation for the center’s role and status achieved at the level of think tanks in the UAE and the region.
EPC ranked 11th in the Middle East and North Africa region and 1st in the United Arab Emirates in the annual global think tank index report released by the University of Pennsylvania. The center also won the Arab Social Media Influencers Award in the Politics Category during a ceremony organized by Dubai Press Club.
“EPC has become one of the key and prominent think tanks, not only at local and GCC levels, but also regionally and globally,” Dr. Al Ketbi added. Moreover, she highly commended the support the center has received from decision-makers in the country, notably H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
